ASFX 2026

We are excited to announce our latest competition, the AppleStar Focus Xtravaganza, or ASFX. ASFX 2026 will be a one-day online competition held on May 16th 2026, and will be open to all students in high school and below. ASFX is intended to be a spring-time complement to our standard competitions, and we hope that it will provide an exciting new opportunity for students to challenge themselves with interesting problems.

Dates

ASFX 2026 will be held online on May 16, 2026. More details on specific scheduling and testing blocks will be released as the competition date approaches.

Focus Rounds

The individual segment of ASFX consists of focus rounds, one for Algebra, Geometry, Combinatorics, and Number Theory. Each competitor will choose two of the four rounds to participate in. Focus rounds have 15 questions to be solved in 75 minutes.

Team Round

The Team round will have 15 questions to be solved in 60 minutes, in teams of up to four. This collaborative round adds an exciting team-based element to the competition.

Guts Round

The Guts round will have 27 total questions, split over 9 sets of 3 questions each, to be solved in 75 minutes. It challenges competitors with a variety of problems across different areas of mathematics.
